Synopsis:
Ace Ventura, emerging from self-imposed exile in a remote Himalayan hideaway, travels to Africa with explorer Fulton Greenwall to find a sacred bat which is told will avert a war between with Wachootoo and Wachati tribes. Of course, when Ace gets involved, all hell breaks loose...This inevitablesequel finds Jim Carrey reprising his role as the world's greatest pet detective. His latest case, the disappearance of a rare African white bat, draws him out of his spiritual retreat at a Tibetan monastery following the tragic outcome of his previous case. That traumatic experience, which makes for a hilarious opening-scene send-up of the Stallone thriller Cliffhanger, prompts Ace to venture to Africa, where he goes native with the tribe that hired him to find their symbolic bat. From that point anything goes, with Carrey pushing the boundaries of good taste (what, you were expecting good taste?) up to and including his now-infamous "birth" scene from the backside of a mechanical rhinoceros. Lighten up, and don't be ashamed if you find yourself laughing. This sequel to the 1994 smash hit Ace Ventura: Pet Detective actually has more animals in it than the first film, in which they were only peripheral characters. The beginning riffs on Sly Stallone's Cliffhanger: Ace (Jim Carrey) and his raccoon pal are hanging from a rock at a very high altitude when the daffy detective loses his grip on the little paw, and the ill-fated ringtail loses his life. A distraught Ace retreats to an ashram in Tibet, where devotes himself to a regimen of contrition. That is, until he's called out of retirement to investigate the disappearance of a rare white bat in the wilds of Africa. Ace's constant companion is a Capuchin monkey named Spike (played by Binx). This is a hilarious movie! Ace is back on the case! This may not be as good as the first but it is still very hilarious! It is one of my favorite comedies! My favorite scene is where he goes into the robot Rhino to spy on people but he sits there for hours and is burning hot! Then he goes out of the rhinos butt! I doesn't get much funnier than that!
THIS IS A 12" LASERDISC AND WILL NOT PLAY IN A DVD PLAYER
