Synopsis:
Rebecca De Mornay (THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE) and Don Johnson (PARADISE) scorch the screen in this spine-tingling, seductively sexy thriller. De Mornay stars as a sexy, hothot criminal defense attorney who plays to win -- and usually does. She meets her match when she represents a playboy (Don Johnson) accused of murdering his rich wife. The attractive lawyer, captured by her client's irresistible charm, finds herself caught in his seductive, psychological web of deceit from which there is no legal escape -- and soon fears she may be his next victim. From its first startling plot twist, GUILTY AS SIN is a riveting edge-of-your-seat suspense thriller leading to a sensational climax. Don't miss it! Don Johnson plays a dangerous sociopath who enjoys planning the execution of the women he uses while they think they are using him. He lures a beautiful well connected attorney into defending him against a murder charge by creating evidence that links her to the crime. So here's the review: Johnson delivers a stunning portrayal of a man who is barely sane but perfectly effective in his manipulations of people, specifically women. Every scene in which he reveals his character is riveting in its complexity. Without Johnson this is an entertaining movie with a competent cast. But Johnson's performance is a master class in acting. Now you are thinking of all those lawyer movies where they get the person off to find them guilty in the end like "Trial and Error" (1962) or the one "Hostile Witness" (1968) with Ray Milland. Well quit thinking that. Well this is well done in the short time of a movie yet the formula is different. The story will become very apparent and there will be no surprises until the quick end to get it over with scenario.
